Belleville is the county seat of Republic [RP] county, Kansas and the Belleville Main Street downtown area is built around the Republic County Courthouse square which is the center attraction for several events during the year.

Downtown Stoplight Change

Due to safety concerns, the Belleville City Council recently approved changing the stoplights in downtown Belleville.  The lights will now be green, yellow, red from 6 am to 10 pm, seven days a week, and flash yellow-red from 10 pm to 6 am.  This will be on a trial basis, with the Council addressing it again in February.
