KANcycle Bike Sharing Program Established

On June 20, 2019, the City of Belleville celebrated with a ribbon cutting of the new KANcycle bike share program within the City. Through the combined efforts of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, OCCK, Inc. and the City of Belleville, two bike stations, with a total of 10 bicycles were installed in Belleville. One of the bike stations is located at the corner of M Street & 19th Street while the other is located along N Street, just north of Highway 36, in the vicinity of Casey’s General Store.

The program will work through the free Zagster Mobile App that can be down loaded onto your phone or found online. Each bike has a unique number which riders enter into the app to unlock the bike. After the rider returns the bike to a designated Zagster bike station, the rental ends and the bike is available for the next rider. The program also works in other cities and towns that have the same KANcycle program. Other cities in the area that have adopted the program are Beloit, Concordia, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Mankato, Minneapolis and Salina.

For additional information on the program visit the KANcycle website at, the KANcycle Facebook page, and go online to or you can contact Claire Mullen, Director of Mobility Management at (785) 826-1583.
