Belleville Planning Commission and Board of Appeals

The City of Belleville is reaching out to its citizens to help fill two vacant spots on the City of Belleville Planning Commission and one vacancy on the Board of Appeals.

The main purpose of the Planning Commission is to make recommendations to the Belleville City Council regarding applications for rezoning, and other general zoning laws within Belleville.  This is a volunteer Board that meets only when an application is submitted for a zoning change or a special need arises.  By serving on this committee, you will have a voice in the development and long term stability of our community.

The Belleville Board of Appeals currently has one vacant seat it is looking to fill.  This Board addresses applications for variances for building permits (i.e. someone wants to build closer to the property line than code allows) and other exemptions from City zoning code.  The Board of Appeals is also a volunteer Board that meets only when an application is submitted or for a special need.

If you are interested on serving on either of these Boards, or would like more information, please contact the Belleville City Office at 785-527-2288.
