Belleville Parks & Recreation Advisory Board

The City of Belleville is looking for individuals who are interested in serving on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.  This Board consists of five members from the community willing to volunteer their time to help facilitate the recreation programs and parks system in Belleville.  The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board makes recommendations to the Governing Body on the overall organization and direction of a program of acceptable recreational and leisure time activities for all citizens.  Some of these activities include:

  • Recreation Programs
  • Recreation Facilities
  • Improvements to the Public Parks
  • Development of new facilities and areas
  • Administration of a tree program for the parks and public right-of-ways
  • Other recommendations as instructed by the Belleville City Council.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board normally meets once a month.  Members are appointed by the Governing Body and serve staggered, four year terms and do not have to reside within the City limits of Belleville.

If you are interested on serving on this Board, please contact the Belleville City Office at 785-527-2288 to submit your name or for more information.  The Belleville Council would like to visit with those individuals who are interested at the July 22nd, 2019 Council meeting.
