Each year, the Belleville City Council allocates $10,000 for the purchase of concrete to be used in the construction or repair of sidewalks that the City believes are unsafe or in disrepair. This money is allocated on a first come, first serve basis. For 2016, the Council approved a total of $15,000 for sidewalk construction.
The City will pay for the concrete to replace public sidewalks, not for private sidewalks, driveways or sidewalks to individual homes.
Concrete must be purchased from Abram Ready Mix in Belleville.
The City will pay for concrete to replace or repair sidewalks 48″ wide and 4″ thick.
The homeowner is responsible for all other costs, including but not limited to: sand, re-bar, labor, back filling.
